The Holiday Season

The Holidays can be a difficult time for us; not thinking about or being able to remember things, watchings others move around easily and pain free.

It's important for us to remember that people cannot always see us as we are. I recently was told by someone that my speech problems stood out more than anything. They do not see the visual disturbances, feel or see your pain or any of the other vast amount of problems you may have. They are not always around to  witness your problems with swallowing and choking or they may think that their confusion is somehow the same and your unable to explain how it differs.

Try to get up and move around. Chances are you will see something that you can do, or have thought about doing and forgot. Try a hobby - remember your whole world has changed, maybe your interests have too. You will not know unless you try.

When you are with a group, GET UP! Let them witness your lack of balance, stiffness and inabilities. They are more likely to pick an activity that everyone can do. But they will not know it if you do not get up!

Learn to let go and accept it; I always say "It is what it is" and I let it be and do all I can. Your not going to change it, so go with it and enjoy all you can.

Peace, Love and Happiness to All!
